  • Bookings

Can I make a booking at Kimusabi?

Yes, we encourage you to book your table before coming to Kimusabi to avoid any disappointment.

What size bookings do you take?

We take bookings from 1 to 12 people. Please note, for groups for 5 or more people we do require credit card details to secure your table.

Can I be guaranteed a specific table in the restaurant?

We are unable to guarantee specific tables, however we do offer ypecific aoeus where you can choose to sit, for examplc, our covered outdoor courtyard, bar, dining room. If you wish, you can make a special request and the team will do their best to accommodate on the day.

Why can I never book for 7pm at Kimusabi?

While we would love to accommodate all dining requests, this is not always possible, especially during popular seating times. Our restaurant has a bar you can have a drink there or alternate options within close proximity – where you can start or conclude your dining experience. At kimusabi, we offer two sittings per service, which allows us to accommodate more requests and avoid disappointment.

    Running Late

Please note that we have two hour sittings at Kimusabi, so if you’re running late for a booking, unfortunately it will come at the expense of your booked time with us.

That is, say that you booked for 6pm (with the agreed departure time by 8pm) and your party show up at 6:15pm, we will still require your table to be vacated by 8pm (and not 8:15pm).

As we only hold tables for 15 minutes before re-opening them to the public, and say you are 30 minutes late (without notice) - then there will be a chance we have given your table away if you haven’t called us.

If you still have your table, you will still be required to depart by 8pm for our second seating.

    Walk-ins

Do you allow ‘walk-ins’ at Kimusabi?

Yes, we always keep our footpath seating and bar seating free for ‘walk-ins’. These operate on a first come first serve basis. The restaurant is extremely popular, so we recommend arriving as early as possible (we open at 5:00pm), to avoid long wait times.

    Cancellations

    What is your cancellation policy?

For bookings of 1 to 4 guests, we ask you give us as much notice as possible so we can have as much opportunity to book the table again or give it to a ‘walk-in’ on the night.

For bookings of 5 to 8 guests, we ask that cancellations be made prior to 24 hours before your reservation time. Any cancellation after that time will result in a cancellation fee of $95.

For larger group bookings of 9 to 12 guests, we ask that cancellations be made prior to 24 hours before your reservation time. Any cancellation after that time will result in a cancellation fee of $295.

If you have moved your booking prior (and it was within the 24hr time frame), we will carry this over to the new booking. If you cancel the second booking at any time - we reserve the right to charge either our $95 or $295 no show fee

For final confirmation of your groups numbers, we will send you a request for final numbers at around 9am on the day of your booking. We require confirmation and final numbers on your table by no later than 11am on the day of your booking.

After this final confirmation / cut off time (11am), any 'no shows' on the table may be charged to the provided credit card a 'no show' fee of $35 per person.

What do I do if I am running late for my reservation?

It is important to let us know if you are running late, as your table may be booked for another reservation after your seating. Please call us to advise delay on 0468820245, otherwise we will hold the table for a period of 15 minutes only.

How do I cancel a reservation?

If you would like to change or cancel your reservation, please either use the email confirmation you got to inform us, the text thread you received as confirmation on the day, or simply call our restaurant on 0468820245. We hope that you will be able to join us on another occasion soon. Please note for groups of 5 or more people, charges may apply

Do we issue store credit if you’ve been charged for a cancellation ?

    We do not.

Do you keep people’s booking/cancellation history?

You bet we do! Every time you book it gets recorded and you build a good reputation as a regular customer on our database - and every time you cancel or don’t show up to your booking we keep that on file too. If you’re a habitual canceller or even worse - a person who just doesn’t show up to your booking, it 100% gets recorded and 100% affects the quality of table we assign to you on the night you do come.

The lesson here - don’t just ‘not show up’ for your booking. #DBAF

    No-Shows

What happens if you’re a no show at Kimusabi?

If you’re a group of more than 5 people we’ll charge our cancelation fee. See above for rates per person.

If you book on the same day and don’t show up - if your booking is for 5 or more people - we’re charging you either $95 or $295 depending on the size of your booked party.

If you’re a smaller table of 1 to 4 people, then we’ll simply BLACKLIST you and put it in the notes so when you try and book again, we know all about your diry little secret.

Please just text us that you’re not coming in so someone else can have the table and enjoy Kimusabi

    Private Dining

Do you have private dining options?

Yes we do offer a private dining room. Please send us an enquiry to peter@greensfood.com.

    Do you offer venue exclusivity?

Yes we do. For large groups of up to 80 people we can discuss different options for closing off kimusabi making it all yours for the night. Please send an email to our dedicated Events Manager Peter at peter@greensfood.com.au

More details regarding bookings, cancellations etc… are available on our reservations page

  • BYO Cake

Can I bring my own cake to Kimusabi?

    Yes and No.

We require you to inform us at time of booking if you wish to bring in a cake for your party.

If you’re thinking of bringing your own cake to celebrate a birthday without telling us - please don’t. We will tell you to leave it in your car or put it in an uber and send it somewhere else, or simply to bugger off and we’ll give your table away to the next passerby.

    PLEASE NOTE

If permitted, there is a cakeage fee, which is $3.50pp

We only allow plant based / vegan cakes and only from certain vendors that we trust.

These include Sugar Baby Vegan Cakes, Raw Passion, Naked Bakery, Fresh and Frosted and Miss Sina

If we don’t know the vendor, we will ask for proof of purchase from the producer to ensure the cake is vegan friendly.

The reason we are such ‘cake narcos’ is because too many people were bringing in non-vegan cakes and then getting upset with us when we wouldn’t serve it to them or allow them to store it in our venue. We’ve never had an animal product in our premises and never will…

but the nail in the coffin

one asshole getting up us for charging him a ‘cakeage’ to bring in his own cake and for us to serve his guests - I mean, how dare we get paid to provide a service right ?

To put it simply do not want foreign food that we can’t be certain is not vegan coming into our establishment. None of our knives, plates, tables, fridges etc… have ever been in contact with an animal product and we’re not about to start because you want to bring some over processed shit-house woolies chocolate cheesecake into our establishment.

  • Are children allowed in your venue?

Yes, legally children are welcome in our venue, accompanied with an adult.

Please note, we recommend that younger children come during our first sitting from opening at 5pm (to no later than a 6pm start time) as it gets very busy later on.

    Are you children friendly?

    Yes and no…

Saturday and Sunday lunches, yes most definitely.

For early dinners during the week (say 5pm - 6pm then definitely) but for dinners after 7pm, not really.

We can get very busy and at times it may be a bit over stimulating for some children, sp we recommend the

forst sitting only or lunch on the weekend.

High Chairs / Prams and Strollers=

    Do you have high chairs?

Sorry we do not keep high chairs.

I have a pram, do I need to let you know when booking?

It is highly recommended that you let us know that you have a pram so we can do our best to allocate a table with space to park your pram/stroller
